The Rolla Area Sheltered Workshop was established May 1, 1970. The
words "sheltered workshop" mean a controlled, noncompetitive work setting. It is a place where disabled individuals
who cannot compete in the industry, but have capacity for work, can be employed in a sheltered environment.
Today the workshop has seventy-five disabled employees and a staff of ten. The workshop provides quality employment for
individuals with disabilities of all kinds. We provide subcontract work for local businesses that need our services.
Our employees are capable of working hard and completing tasks just as non-disabled people . The disabled employees are
paid for all the jobs they perform. In the past we have done inspection work on printed material, packaging of different kinds,
sorting, collating, putting labels on bags and other various repetitive projects.
